We are back with a new edition of our Super Stylin' blog, catching up with stylist and friend of the brand, Kirsty Warriss.

We have been fans of Kirsty since the early days of Disko Kids & through the years she has always supported us as a brand.

So much so she has recently done a photoshoot with us to showcase our new AW 24 range of party wear - Coming soon .

We also collaborated with Kirsty on a design a few years ago which we loved doing.

One look at Kirsty's fab Instagram account @girlwithbellsandwhistles (go follow her!) will show you her love for the fun & colourful side of fashion, showcasing a wonderful mix of print, colour & texture, her looks are super inspiring and we love her support for small indie businesses like us.

What is your background and how are you finding your new venture into full time styling?

I have been a primary school teacher all my working life but also have a real love of fashion. I had wanted to be a stylist for years and when I was on maternity with my second child, I decided it was now or never.

So I completed a styling course and have been running personal styling and holding style talks in stores alongside my day job. This summer, I decided to take the leap into full time styling, which is very exciting!

So now I have Bells and Whistles styling up and running- website still to come but if anyone is interested in a personal style session then please DM me on my Instagram.

How would you sum up your personal style?

Its colourful.

I love colour- it makes me feel happy. I love prints and I really like wearing something a little bit different. But that being said I also like to mix neutrals and black into my wardrobe, but always with lots of gold jewellery. Gold bangles are my signature look- everyone knows where I am as they bang around on my wrist!!

What are your top 3 tracks?

Oooh hard....well, my number one track is Insomnia by Faithless. That song is mega, Faithless is mega!

I recently saw Taylor swift in concert and wasn't a huge fan before I went but definitely am now! So I'd say Shake it off for a good sing along.  And I have to say Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac as I walked down the aisle to it and its such a lovely song.

What song always gets you dancing?

Apart from Insomnia, it has to be rhythm is a dancer- one of those songs you know all the words to! Reminds me of my clubbing days in the 90's!

Who is your biggest style icon?

I think it has to be Iris Apfel, she is a true icon. She went down her own path and stuck to it. 'More is more and less is a bore!' I love that saying. She always looked so colourful, with giant pieces of jewellery on, and dressed like this until she died at 102. What a woman!

Thanks so much Kirsty, we have really loved chatting to you and learning more about your journey into styling and what you love.

Definitely head over to @girlwithbellsandwhistles to take a closer look at Kirsty's style and follow her new life as a full time stylist.
